Thanksgiving week-end is over. We had a nice butterball turkey, dressing, greenbeans, mashed pototoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. More than a fat girl needs. (oh yeah, Greg cooked up the turkey neck, and gizzard too.) Sugar enjoyed the turkey leg, & Jinx, tasted the gizzard. It was cold & rainy Thurs. and Friday, but Saturday , and Sunday we got our golf in. Dallas Cowboys won. My kids are healthy, my family is safe. I'm so grateful for my "simple life". Hope all had a safe and HAPPY DAY!!

How long
How long do I have to pay
How long must I endure the pain
What can I say to you
to ease the pain I've caused
I beg, I cry, I scream inside
I breath in-I hold it in-I let it go
My knee's are raw and worn
My tears flow like a torrid river
I sink to the bottom
I struggle for air
I take a breath and retreat again
How long - How Long

HONORING MY UNCLE BRUCE'S LIFE
My recent trip to California.
It gave me time to reflect on my Uncle Bruce's life. If I were to describe him in a few words, I would say; a compassionate, loving family man, funny, strong values, and a man I looked up to. I always felt that I was his favorite niece. (of course I wasn't, he loved all 18 of his nieces and nephews)
That was just the type of person he was. He made you feel special. He truly was interested you, and cared about us all. I'm going to sure miss his laugh.
These four men have all influenced my life. I'm a better person for having them in my life. I am so blessed to be a part of a wonderful family. May we all be together again on the other side.

We all had a good visit with each other. We laughed, we cried, we LOVED one another. We missed those who were unable to make it, but you can be assured we talked about you. hee-hee.
Here's Russell and Aunt Joanie and Patti in the background. Joey here, is snagging some California oranges and lemons to stash in his suitcase to take back to Chicago with him.
It was a beautiful Day.
THESE ARE MY PEOPLE
"THESE ARE MY PEOPLE"
These are my people
This is where I come from
We're givin' this life everything we've got & then some
It ain't always pretty
but it's real
It's the way were made wouldn't have any other way- These are my people
We fall down and we get up
We walk proud and we talk tough
We got heart and we got nerve
Even if we are a bit disturbed
These are my people
This is where I come from.....

REASONS I LIKE NASCAR
Reasons I like NASCAR.
Greg first introduced to me NASCAR when we first started dating. He took me to my First Race in Phoenix, Nov. 2, 2003. I had a BLAST! When you are there, the energy level is great. The more you learn about the drivers and the strategy of the race, it becomes a lot more than driving around in circles. Trust me. The Roar of the engines- is something you have to experience for your self.
You gotta LOVE the FANS! They are hardworking, redneck, God fearing, patriotic, families, who know how to have a fun week-end with family and friends, and go back to work on Mondays. They cheer for their driver with such enthusiasm. The fans are part of the show and fun. Everyone is in a great mood, and fun to be around.
I love the start of race. Every race starts with a prayer. Then the National Anthem, Then a exciting fly- over by one of the military service. weee-SWOOSH, the crowd goes Wild! Then the famous words--
"Gentlemen start your engines!" Put your earplugs in, and let's Rock and ROLL Baby!!
Going to the race became a TRADITION for Greg, David, and my self. We always had a great week-end of fun and laughs! Being at the race with my man & David was always a HAPPY-HAPPY DAY, for me.

MY Thoughts- This Sunday. 11-2-08

This is The Cathedral De la Magdalene.
This is about 2 blocks from my home. I go here often for comfort, prayer and meditation.
The front doors are open, anyone (even me) can go inside. I'm not a Catholic, I'm
not a religious person, but I am a very Spiritual person.
While I was there Friday, a small little pamphlet caught my eye.
"Voter's guide for Serious Catholics". www.catholicansweraction.com
It explains to Catholics and Christians that you have a MORAL obligation for the common good through the exercise of their voting privileges, and not to support any legislators that endorse evils in legislation or programs.
As mentioned before, "these 5 issues concern actions that are intrinsically evil and must never be promoted by law."
1. Abortion
2. Euthanasia
3. EMBRYONIC stem cell research
4. Human Cloning
5. Homosexual "Marriage"
THESE ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE ISSUES.
Which political offices should I worry about?
Laws are passed by the legislature, enforced by the executive branch, and interpreted by the judiciary.
Be very careful on who you endorse at the local, city, & state level. Most political careers are started at the local levels. The presidency is important, but don't under estimate the power of the legislature and judiciary branches.
"CONSCIENCE is like a alarm. It warns you when you are about to do something you know is wrong. For your conscience to work properly, it must be properly informed--that is, you must inform yourself about what is right and wrong. Only then will your conscience be a trusted guide."
So, be in tune with your "conscience", and "the still, small voice within you", when you mark your ballot. May God Bess America and our families.
