APRIL FLOWERS
The month of April flower is the daisy, or the sweet pea, depending on which book you read. I like them both. April is my birth month. Usually, here in Salt Lake spring is beautiful. This April has had an unusual amount of rain and SNOW. (190 inch snow base @ Snowbird ski resort, 6" last night) The daffodils, tulips, and other flowers have popped up, though. I enjoy walking around my neighborhood and enjoy the many flowers but due to the weather, Sugar and I have not been able to do it much. Anyway, here's a little info about Daisies and Sweet Peas.
Daisies- there are 1,000's of species of daisies. They come in all different COLORS.
The name Daisy comes from "Day's End" because the flower is only open during the day, and then
closes at night.
Symbolism- the daisy symbolizes purity, innocence, loyal love, beauty, patience, and simplicity.
Daisies have been used to decorate hair pins over 4,000 years ago. And we still use them today
for that purpose. They are also edible, and used in teas.
Sweet Peas- Sweet peas come in red, pink, white, lavender and a rare yellow.
Back in the 1700's they were used at every dinner party and weddings.
Dried petals make for excellent potpourris.
Symbolism- blissful pleasure, good bye, thank you for a lovely time, and innocence.
I have a special place in my heart for SWEET PEAS because, I love the way they smell, and that is my
"pet name" that Greg called me when we first starting dating. Ahhhhhhhh....
so WHEREVER YOU ARE, ENJOY SPRING TIME!!

I really like tulips too :)
We love flowers too! And we even have 5 baby birds that love them too. Happy happy
As you know all old hippies love the DAISY. And my heart melts when I see and smell sweet peas, SWEETPEAS remind me of quiet peaceful times, and I love their delicate fragrance and pink and lavender blossoms.
Promise of winter gone!
