Joy in the Morning

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
     -Psalm 30:5

Psalm 40:1-5
1.  I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.  He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.  He has put a new song in my mouth--Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.  Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.  Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

David was enduring some tough times when he wrote this psalm.  It seems that a least some of his troubles were brought on by his own sins and others by his enemies.  But this is also David's praise song, to be used in congregational worship to thank God for His merciful deliveance and testify that God can be trusted.  In response to God's faithfulness, David repented and committed to obey God's Word and do His will.
Our personal experiences of God's kindness and mercy should naturally result in public thanks and testimony.                                  -sim kay tee

Waiting patiently for Jehovah leads to true happiness.

When we do things God's way, fully trusting in his righteous ways, even though our feelings and emotions may incline us to do what we think is best, we will always get the best possible results, no matter how serious the situation we may find ourselves in.
