First, we would get A&W as a very special treat on a hot summer day in Indiana. I remember the little tiny mugs, all frosted, of course for the kids...filled with VERY GOOD Root Beer.
Our Criswell grandparents, Ruby and Homer would always have ice-cream for us, before we went to bed. Sometimes, though we would get a root beer float, though it was always with "Dads" root beer. Once in a great while we would have a "purple cow" I remember, Grandpa's smile as he prepared it for us.
Ronna, Thanks for reminding about Grandpa & Grandma Criswell. Now I remember that. Even though I was young. I just know that I associate A & W Root beer with alot of HAPPY memories when I drive by one.

I think of my Grandma Jambor and Uncle John. We had lots of floats at their home.
