1 Corinthians 13- A PARENTS LOVE NEVER ENDS

Comedian Henny youngman used to say, "I've got two wonderful children- one out of 5 isn't bad."
When children reach adulthood, most parents have an opinion about how their offspring have "turned out." some are proud of everything their kids have done, while other parents express misgivings or disappointment about the choices their children have made. How can we continue a positive parenting role after the birds have left the nest?
In Corinthians 13, often called "the love chapter" of the Bible, Paul writes that the greatest gifts of speaking, understanding, sacrificial service are worthless without love. Love itself is the foundation of winsome behavior, & it's influence never ends. "Love suffers long & is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
When our children no longer seek our advice, they still value our love. In every stage of parenting, it's not only what we say but what we do that counts. -david McCasland-
May God in mercy grant to us
A home where Christ holds sway,
Where peace & joy from heaven above
Abide from day to day. -Crane-

It looks like fun for all at Lake Powell. Looks like Kempton is like grandpa--when he is tired he takes a nap no matter where he is.

I think you already know, that 1 Corinthians 13 is a favorite scripture of mine. We need to read it often to remind us what true love is and check ourselves to be sure we have it.

Authentic love is the most powerful gift anyone could ever receive in this life and is the only way to be truly happy.

THE FIRST EPISTLE OF PAUL THE APOSTLE TO THE
CORINTHIANS
CHAPTER 13
Paul extols the high status of charity—Charity, a pure love, excels and exceeds almost all else.
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not acharity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of aprophecy, and understand all bmysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the apoor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 aCharity bsuffereth long, and is ckind; charity denvieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself aunseemly, seeketh not her bown, is not easily cprovoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in ainiquity, but rejoiceth in the btruth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never afaileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a aglass, bdarkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth afaith, bhope, ccharity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
