EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
In Mexico, October 31st- November 2nd is called "El Dia de los Muertos"-The day of the dead". It is a 3 day celebration to honor deceased relatives. The Mexicans view death as a continuation of life.Instead of fearing death, they embrace it. Today they visit the cemetery where their loved ones are buried and decorate the gravesides with flowers and candles. The cemeteries are really beautiful this time of year.
It's a 3 day celebration of music, remembrance, and honor of loved ones.
I like that.

I love "El Dia de los Muertos", the candy skulls and all that. I think the art of a lot of the decorative skulls is really cool (like the photo you have posted) I think it brings deeper meaning to what we call Halloween! sweet!
I didn't know that. Thanks for teaching this to this old lady.

They started celebrating a little early here in the barrio. Dan put out the garbage last night and warned me that when I take the kids to school there might be a sleeping Mexican in the kids plastic pool out front. :) Happy Halloween!
