Greg first introduced to me NASCAR when we first started dating. He took me to my First Race in Phoenix, Nov. 2, 2003. I had a BLAST! When you are there, the energy level is great. The more you learn about the drivers and the strategy of the race, it becomes a lot more than driving around in circles. Trust me. The Roar of the engines- is something you have to experience for your self.
You gotta LOVE the FANS! They are hardworking, redneck, God fearing, patriotic, families, who know how to have a fun week-end with family and friends, and go back to work on Mondays. They cheer for their driver with such enthusiasm. The fans are part of the show and fun. Everyone is in a great mood, and fun to be around.
I love the start of race. Every race starts with a prayer. Then the National Anthem, Then a exciting fly- over by one of the military service. weee-SWOOSH, the crowd goes Wild! Then the famous words--
"Gentlemen start your engines!" Put your earplugs in, and let's Rock and ROLL Baby!!
Going to the race became a TRADITION for Greg, David, and my self. We always had a great week-end of fun and laughs! Being at the race with my man & David was always a HAPPY-HAPPY DAY, for me.

Ok then, the fans do look entertaining.
ya gotta love those nascar fans!
ryan recently asked me why anyone watches nascar..i'll have to show him this post.
We talked to Matt & Brandi a few minutes age.
Matt showed us a video of him driving a race car, #35 at 140 - 160 MPH.
I guess you get cheering for nascar drivers like I use to cheer for my high school favorite basketball players. It was great fun and emotional at times. Now in my grandma stage cheering and getting excited is when my grandchildren play a sport and I get to cheer and get excited over their games. Tonight I got to see a video of a grandson actually driving a nascar on a track. In his cheering section was two young daughters and his wife (taking pictures.)Mat was one happy excited guy when he lived a dream-driving car #35. Way to go Mat!
