I like this. I like the colors, reflections, & subject matter. It makes me "feel good" inside. I think maybe because it reminds me of my parents. The bike reminds me of my little sis, which makes me think of all three of my sisters. What do you think of when you look at it?

A wonderful evening to cherish. Classic cars, family values, and a time for just being together.
A Time Before Malls.
A slower life style. When people dressed well. When going downtown was a big event, meeting up with friends for a meal and companionship. When you could actually afford a movie after dinner, yes, with 2 features and a cartoon! (Would you believe 25 cents for a matinee?)
And the car! I think I remember riding in the back of one similar, the back seat was like a sofa, soft and fluffy! (We would bounce!)And the leg room was amazing, no seat belts, we could play on the floor until we got to where we were going (Uncle David's?). Safe and secure with Daddy driving.
I bet if you walk around the corner you will see a shoe repair shop!
Yep a happy time, with wonderful childhood memories.
I like the colors tooo!
I think about Dan. He loves the 50s 60s look and feel. Have a picture of him sporting a slight pompador.
Is that car a 1949 Hudson? or Buick? or what?
Roy Rogers? Gene Autry?
Tom Mix? Lone Ranger?
I almost missed Santa.
And that red car with 3 headlights, A Tucker?
Daddy had a Kaiser/Fraizer 1947?
i like that picture - it would look good in my basement.
love the colors.
it makes me think of down town mesa and tri city mall.
shopping with mom at christmas when i was younger.
great find sandy sea shells
honestly, it makes me think of The Notebook.
When they go to the movie.
Great movie :)
It makes me feel like I am in what we called "downtown" in our town in 1940 and 1950. This was where all the shops and movie theaters were located. We usually walked about 5 or 6 blocks to get there. There was a drug store called Larry's where the seniors gathered in the back room full of booths. Across the street was the Trolley Diner owned by a young guy named Duchie. He also owned a huge great dane dog that walked around in the diner. Beside the Indiana Movie Theater was THE SPOT an ice cream parlor. It was all white, clean and shiny. One shop called Dino's was a sweet shop with a juke box where the the freshmen and sophomores gathered and played music and sipped cokes..Yep, like the TV show "Happy Days".
I did not realize that Sweet older Sister experienced some of the same things that I did. Nice picture Sea Shells.
Yes, I am after all only 20 years younger than Gram. And I probably saw some of those places as a young child, remember I had the same kindergarten teacher as Gram. And Vallerie took her first steps behind the shoe repair shop!
Also, I can remember downtown Chicago! that was pretty exciting!
Later, in Arizona to escape the heat we were dropped off at the Movie theater. After our chores were done, we would walk, yes kids! walk from our house to downtown Mesa on Saturday's. And of course there was the cruising downtown during high school, this I experienced both in Globe and Mesa. Just thought you might want to know.
Thanks to all of you sharing happy memories with me. Happy-happy!
