Tues July 21 ( day one of trip)

Day One of a New Experience.
Getting to San Diego on public transportation from Concord, California. (yellow line, on map above)
This is the BART. Bay Area Rapid Transit.
BART connects the San Francisco Peninsula with Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Walnut Creek and other cities in the East bay. For more than 35 years BART has provided fast, reliable, safe, transportation to downtown offices, shopping centers, tourist attractions, entertainment venues, universities and airports for residents and visitors alike.
So---Greg dropped me off at the BART Station here in Pleasant Hill, CA.
I managed to buy my ticket and get on, and make it to the San Francisco Airport.
The trip took about 1 and 1/2 hours. It makes about 15 quick stops. It goes through a mountain, and "Under" the bay. (glad there were no earthquakes!)
I didn't have to change trains, everyone was very nice and helpful, and I felt very safe. (and by the way, it is very "clean" also.) Long story, short arrived in San Diego around 9pm. (approx. 6 hours via "trains, planes, and automobiles.) Never did that before.
