Fall is coming

Leaves
by

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow

Fall is coming and the trees on the mountains in Utah are changing. The mountains are patches of different colors.

I am looking forward to fall. We are planning a day trip to Julian, sometime at the end of Oct. the leaves should be changing by then and the apples will be ripe!

I love that poem!

Seriously, what is all this talk about leaves changing and snow? I think it is still in the low 90s around here.
