I love REAL MEXICAN FOOD.
We got these homemade tamales by asking a store clerk, who called her girlfriend, who had just made tamales for her family for Christmas.
The Mexican woman said yes she would sell us some and within 10 minutes, she came down and met us at the store, on Christmas Day. That's how the local people have always been to me in Mexico. And the Tamales did not disappoint. Muy delisioso! Good masa, great pork with red chile sauce, A sliver of jalapeno, a sliver of carrot, and a olive. Next, the Fish market. Shrimp Cocktail Mexican style. So Fresh and yummy. (equal to Ronna's). We also bought some large fresh shrimp for the grill. They are big and wonderful. And of course, the hot, fresh homemade tortillas. We always buy several dozen of those for friends and family before we come back across the border. I like to buy the little carnitas right off the cart on the street too. With a mexican bottle of coka-cola Mmmm. I can eat Mexican food everyday.
And no , I have never got sick from eating their food all these years.

It might have been beef, or maybe dog, but it was tender and lean.
I love real Mexican food too! The humble yet very festive way of serving it too, is very endearing. I like to imitate it as closely as I can. Both the taste and presentation. Food should always, be served with love.

we made the same joke about "dog Tamales" jaja when they are so cheap even for us.hahaha
