IOWA

IOWA       Iowa was not that exciting UNTIL,  I came across the IOWA MOTOR SPEEDWAY!
SO,  I'm driving along I-80 and out in the middle of a corn field, there it is!   A NASCAR RACE TRACK.   What?  Well, I had to go check it out and get a picture to say I was there.    So I drive around the track and find an open gate AND Sugar and I drive through it to get close to the track.  I was thinking this is really cool,  I was able to drive right up to the bleachers to take pictures and check it out.   When I was done I drove back to the gate I came through and guess what?    I was locked in!   Someone had chain locked the gate.
All I could do was start laughing, and try to figure out what to do next.
My first thought was to climb the fence and go get help, but who would be able to help me?  Only the guy with the key, right?  Well who knows where he drove off to.
So next thought.   Call the police to help me.  hmmmm?
Next thought, Call the speedway ticket office and hope a HUMAN & not a recording answers.  So that's what I did.  First the recording, but then an extension to the Administration office.  YEA.
A HUMAN ANSWERED.   I told the lady on the phone my delimia and she was very helpful, she directed me to another gate around and across the track.  About 60 seconds in front of me a guy in a truck had just locked it, and was driving off.  He was leaving,  I got the lady back on the phone and told her he just locked the gate,  I started honking, and jumped out of my truck and started yelling,
"I'M LOCKED IN!"                  He came back & let me out.  So that's my experience at the Iowa NASCAR motor Speed way!   LOL
Of course the next thing that interested me was
THE WORLD'S LARGEST TRUCK STOP.   Clean bathrooms, and your choice of Wendy's, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, or PIZZA HUT. Yummy.

Finally, at one of the rest stops, (which was extremely clean also) is where there were trees with colorful leaves.  It also was where President Herbert Hoover was raised, and the Mormon hand-cart party crossed on there way to Utah.

It's a good thing you didn't panic--that's funny!
