Hermit Crabs

So, I went to Virginia Beach and while looking for a souvenir to bring back for the girls I came across these cute Hermit Crabs.
They like them waaaay better than a T-shirt.
So here's some things we learned about our new "Pets".
1. Hermit Crabs love to switch shells & need larger shells as they grow.  So I had to buy extra shells.
2. Crabs will clean themselves if you provide them with bottles spring water.  It is a good idea to bathe crabs; no more than once a week.  Totally submerge them for 1 minute & then allow them to air dry.
3. Create a social environment. Crabs like to party with other crabs. (I got 2)
4. Promote Exercise by creating a playground.  Crabs love to climb. Coral, grapevine, choya wood 5. Serve a balanced diet & fresh water daily.  Crabs need calcium obtained from shell dishes. They thrive on premixed hermit crab food and a variety of vegetables & fruits.

Lexi named her crab 'Cheetah' because its spotted shell looks like a Cheetah, and Anna named hers, 'Freddie'.
