Quick Trip to Arizona (Part one)

Meteor Crater

The most well known, best preserved meteorite crater on Earth!

Visit the world’s best preserved meteorite impact site just minutes from Interstate 40 in Northern Arizona near Winslow. Meteor Crater is the breath-taking result of a collision between a piece of an asteroid traveling at 26,000 miles per hour and planet Earth approximately 50,000 years ago.
Today, Meteor Crater is nearly one mile across, 2.4 miles in circumference and more than 550 feet deep. It is an international tourist venue with outdoor observation trails, air conditioned indoor viewing, wide screen movie theater, interactive discovery center, unique gift and rock shop, and Astronaut Memorial Park at the modern Visitor Center located on the crater rim.

Road Trip
Mom and I took a little Road Trip up to Northern Arizona.
Our first stop was, Meteor Creator, National Park.
 Then on to Winslow.

And then......"I was standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona,
And such a fine sight to see,
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
so take it easy........"   la la la la  ---Eagles song Take it Easy.
When mom and I first pulled up, there was actually a wedding couple getting married right there!

Then Mom and I had a great visit with David, Saturday and Sunday.
He truly is amazing.  Thank you all, for all your prayers and support.
"You can have sacred revelatory, profoundly instructive experiences with the Lord, in the most miserable experiences of your life- in the worst settings, while enduring the most painful injustices, when facing the most insurmountable odds and opposition you have ever face." --Elder Holland
God has a special mission in his life.  He is being prepared for great things.
His testimony and faith in Christ continues to grow, and so does mine.
Ordered "Fred's Navajo Taco, while in Winslow.
Mom requested 'Cracker Barrel' in Flagstaff on the way Home.
It was a regular stop, all the time, on their way up to Utah.
It was a good choice.  The Special was,  Corn beef Dinner, and we both enjoyed it thoroughly, and had enough to take home for dinner.
A Quick Rest Stop at SUNSET POINT

Beautiful pictures. So happy you got to take this trip. David looks good in his picture.

Was it cooler up in Winslow?
Which hotel did you stay in?

I was hoping you would, "Stand on the corner, in Winslow Arizona..."

There is a Navajo congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Winslow {as well as English speaking). Interesting.
Dennis and I hope we can make it up there sometime.
